Why File Player?

	The image to the left is a picture of the artist list from the default music player installed on the G1 phone. You can see that it has five different listings for AC/DC, each with a slightly different spelling. This is because the people who recorded the tracks did not enter consistent track information into the file. This is extremely common. People misspell track or artist names or sometimes they simply do not enter the information at all. Standard music players run under the assumption that your music files have %100 correct track information. If not, they will throw your music into seemingly random categories, the most popular being 'unknown artist'. Normal music players have no respect for the folder structure that many of us have set up to keep things organized. Notice also that there are 66 unknown songs. Where did these unknown songs come from? All the tracks on the sd card in this example are clearly organized into artist and album folders. If I was to put in all my music, you would see over ten thousand songs thrown haphazardly into the 'unknown artist' folder. For someone with lots of unlabeled or mislabeled tracks, normal music players are not just inconvenient, they are completely useless. For everyone else, you might not be aware of the problems you are already experiencing. Are you certain your music player is properly recognizing all your music? If it wasn't, would you notice? I have also heard that organizing music by track information takes more processing power and therefore wears your battery down faster... however, I have no direct knowledge of this and must admit that the performance difference is probably not noticeable.
	Here is what the exact same music collection looks like in Kalin Player. It's simple and straightforward and represents exactly what is on the phone's sd card. Notice there is only one AC_DC category and nothing is 'unknown'.
